As parents we have a habit of feeling emotions and those emotions relating back on to our children. It’s important that in the water we control these emotions so our child has the best chance of learning to swim.Learn to Slow Down!

Remember this isn’t a competition and this isn’t a race. Focus on your child and where they are up to in their development stage. Pushing them beyond their abilities could scare them, so as hard as it is sometimes – let it happen naturally. Don’t push them too much!

Learn to control your facial expressions!

When children are performing an activity that they feel unsure about they will always turn back to us as parents for reassurance.  It’s important to give them a positive reaction so they then react accordingly.
